Dunder Mifflin Infinity

DMI Pittsburgh

If you’re a hardcore fan of The Office, you know that this week’s episode is called “Dunder Mifflin Infinity.” If you track the social media industry, you know that NBC is very aggressive in trying out new methods of engaging with their audience. And if you’re me or one of my friends, you’re probably on the new Dunder Mifflin Infinity site right now, trying out NBC’s latest experiment in Alternate Reality Gaming.

Anyway, if you register on the site, you should sign up under “MA, Holyoke” with the code “oopxhmhyv2″ to play with others in the Pittsburgh area. Tonight’s the deadline for the first task, to make a logo using their built-in Flash-based graphics editor (you can see my quick example above). Prizes include autographed memorabilia from the cast and lots of SchruteBucks!

Predictions:
Sometime after Thursday night’s episode, the DMI site will go down (it already has scalability problems and experienced some downtime earlier). All regional manager spots will be booked soon. People will start lobbying for their own town to be included in the listings.

  1. One Response to “Dunder Mifflin Infinity”

  2. Great logo. I feel I have let everyone down as a potential regional manager. Not only did I not get the job but most people who applied on my behalf didn’t get hired either. NBC sure left us in the lurch on this one.

Jia I hope you soon become the new regional manager, fire that other guy, and move the branch to Pittsburgh.
